Dahlia

With new releases, Dahlias are having a resurgence of popularity. They come in all sorts of colours, shapes and sizes with many small growing varieties suitable for pots. They're easy to grow and flower for months on end over summer.

How to Care

Planting

This flowering beauty needs full sun to light shade. Plant with base of tuber at a depth of 15-20cm. Taller growing varieties will need staking so do this at planting time to avoid damaging tuber.

Feeding and Watering

They are fertile and need free draining soil so add Organic Compost and General Garden Food 150gm/m². Keep well watered during hotter months. Do not let them go dry.

Pruning

For large blooms, disbud by removing all flower buds except those at the tip of each shoot.
